Our Team

Lynne Woodstock co-owns The Willow along with her business partner David Duke. Their partnership evolved through Lynne’s desire to open a small Care Home with a different approach and David’s desire to find a perfect place for his father to live.

Lynne’s expertise was in nursing, which led to a life long career both with Social Services and the Private Sector. David’s expertise was in accountancy and business planning. Lynne had seen a house that was up for sale that she believed would be a perfect setting for a ‘home from home’ care home. She approached David and The Willow was born. It was not easy to find the funding as it was not the large Home that is usually opened, but finally a bank manager who had a father in a care home, could see exactly what Lynne and David were trying to create. His faith in their plan proved justified because for 20 years The Willow has a proven track record of success.

Lynne believes that the benchmark for her is ‘would I want someone that I love very much, my parents, to live here?’

That answer would be yes and every person that chooses to live at The Willow is treated with just as much care and respect. Lynne is passionate about delivering the highest standards of care and attention and our testimonials confirm that.

Lynne Woodstock
Co-owner/ Manager

Lynne Woodstock has been the Sole Registered Manager since 1997 and is delighted to be joined by Lisa. Lynne is also a qualified nurse. She has an NVQ 4, Registered Managers Award and has completed Leadership and Management Training as well as Dementia Care Mapping with Bradford University. She has developed an excellent team of highly professional individuals, all of whom bring something special to the Home.

Over the years we have cared successfully for many people suffering with dementia. As we know, it can take on many forms and care needs can be complex. I believe that it possible and indeed beneficial, for people with dementia to be cared for in a residential setting as long as their care needs can be met, whilst not compromising their fellow residents. I am so proud of my staff. I am always receiving compliments about them from those that visit and live at The Willow. They really are our greatest asset and are truly valued’.

More than 20 years ago my father had a life changing stroke. From being independent in his own home he completely lost the use of the whole of his right side. He needed 24 hour care. My concern was to ensure that he would be cared for in an empathetic environment.

This was the beginning of my involvement in The Willow. Lynne Woodstock’s vision fitted perfectly with my need. I am a professional accountant with many contacts in finance. Lynne needed financial skills to partner with her operational skills.
